What is Diamonds Are For Everyone?

Diamonds Are For Everyone is a new, adaptive softball program offered by Mount Laurel Girls Softball for boys and girls. It's designed for children and teens in the region with physical or developmental challenges, giving them a fun, inclusive opportunity to experience the joy of softball. Weekly games will be held in September and October.

Who Can Participate?

The program is open to individuals ages 5–17 with physical or developmental challenges. If a player can participate in the traditional Mount Laurel Girls Softball program with reasonable accommodations, we encourage them to do so. Players do not have to reside in Mount Laurel.

Is There a Cost to Join?

No. Thanks to the generosity of our community supporters, Diamonds Are For Everyone is completely free to all participants. Information on becoming a sponsor can be found here.

Do players need their own equipment?

No. All softball equipment will be provided by Mount Laurel Girls Softball.

How Are Games Played?

Games are non-competitive and all about fun! They typically last about an hour and run for a couple of innings. Every player bats each inning and takes the field on defense. No score is kept — just smiles and high-fives.

Where Are Games Held?

All games are played on our traditional softball fields at Spencer Park, allowing participants to enjoy the same playing experience as other athletes in the community.

Who Will Assist The Players?

Parents and caretakers are encouraged to be part of the experience! Our athletes will also be supported by buddies — youth volunteers who lend a hand with batting, base running, and fielding. Many of our buddies come from local softball teams and are excited to share their love of the game while forming meaningful connections. Information on how to become a buddy will be available as the season approaches.
